Effluent Treatment Plant

Pacques Intl. Netherlands

Stark Ridge Paper is a Zero-Liquid-Discharge (ZLD) Plant. This means, a minimal amount of fresh water is added to the system and the chemically processed water (effluent) that is present in the system is continually processed to be reused in the plant.

The ETP at Stark Ridge Paper is a one of its kind technology which was envisioned by a joint collaboration with Paques International, who are one the leading global pioneers in effluent treatment

Key Equipment

Reactor: The reactor in an ETP plant plays the vital role of reducing the BOD and COD levels in the effluent to their desired levels. This is accomplished through bacterial activity in the reactor.

At Stark Ridge Paper, the biogas that is generated through this bacterial activity is used in the boiler as fuel. This leads to a saving of 5-7 tons of coal consumption each day.
